Welcome to the wonderful world of Liquid Culture, where I feature everything and anything to do with libations.

By joining the Liquid Culture community, you are committing yourself to learn, grow and be a more confident person in your own kitchen and bar. It doesn’t matter if you are new to the beverage world or a seasoned ‘mixologist’, if you have an inch of creativity in you, then you can bartend, and I am here to show you how.

What you will find in Liquid Culture is an abundance of recipes that can accommodate all levels, quick how-to videos, educational segments, featured products and so much more. Learning how to balance a cocktail is key, and understanding this notion is the first step to being the best home bartender you can be.

Liquid Culture is here to help and encourage you every step of the way, so no question or concern is too small or big when it comes to joining our community. In short, education is about to get a whole lot cooler!

I know the world of bartending and cocktails may seem intimidating, even complicated, but anyone that is comfortable around a kitchen, can be comfortable around a bar. So I’m here to shake things up, and shed some light and understanding about the world of booze, and how you can be the best with the right knowledge, tools and imagination!

Now what you need to know is…I am NOT the best bartender out there, and in truth, I am still learning and adding to my knowledge everyday. But surrounding myself (and hopefully you!) with a community that embraces mistakes and inspires creativity is exactly where I want to be, and why you should be a part of Liquid Culture.

Since starting LC, I have had so much fun developing my photography skills, styling my sets, developing new recipes, and semi-improving my writing skills. 

That’s right, all photos on this site have been photographed by me (much to my families disbelief). I picked up a book and a camera, and I just went with it, and have been loving this journey since.

With your help, Liquid Culture will be an institution where education can be comfortable and fun for all ages (over 19). The skills that you can learn here are so applicable to your day-to-day life, and if LC can help make your event or just chill night in better, than I’ve done my job! I’m a true believer that if you follow your passion in life, the rest will fall into place.

I followed my passion for the hospitality industry and I couldn’t be happier where that journey has taken me to date. That passion is my ultimate drive to work tirelessly each and every day to bring you the very best that Liquid Culture has to offer. Now enough about me, and let’s start creating!

Say hello to the many faces of Postpartum Depression.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It came about in slow drips. Small. Seems insignificant. Until a month goes by and the tub was full.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was just a few weeks ago when I finally got out of my body to recognize that I wasn’t myself. The highs are euphoric and in the midst of it all, you have great days. But it gets quicker reaching the lows. And the lows are dark and kills anything that brings you joy…including for me, Liquid Culture.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the positives going through this PPD journey was re-analyzing my efforts and who I wanted to be on this platform. And that’s recognizing my new mom role and wanting to share so much, but I had put unnecessary boundaries thinking mom life and cocktails can’t mix in the media realm.

Because on the 7th day we rest…so I’m hooking up something Gin and Easy 😘

It’s been a while since I made something with Gin, but Collective Arts Rhubarb and Hibiscus Gin was giving me this “make something with me” look and I obliged 🤣 (side note, does anyone else have this with their bottles at home? 🤣🤣)

I brought together this Gin with an Aperitivo, grapefruit and some elderflower tonic water. Man…sometimes the SIMPLIEST things are just perfection 💯💫

This post is very delayed. It’s my #NDW recipe from a couple weeks back, which made me realize how I’ll be tackling my #NoDrinksWasted concept from now on. But I was VERY determined to make something for @claudine_drinks, especially because I know it’s something that would sit on my bar as well.

Unless you’re dropping Harvey Wallbangers all night, it’s rare that you’ll be using up the Galliano. At least, that’s how it felt for me. But I really didn’t give this liquor a chance and I let it collect dust. So #NoDrinksWasted really comes in handy for spirits such as this and I’m so glad I tried 🍹

🍹Vanilla Banger 🍹
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey (Went with The Sexton because it’s spiicccyyyy)
0.5 oz Campari
0.5 oz Galliano
3 Sprigs of Mint (1 for garnish)
1 Orange Peel
2 Strawberries (stems removed)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In your Julep tin, muddle strawberries. Add in your orange peel and 2 sprigs of mint leaves and gently muddle. Add your Whiskey, Campari and Galliano. Top halfway with crushed ice. Churn. Top with more crushed ice until you form a dollop on top. Add Remaining Mint Sprig.

When Sandwiches are life, and you need to pair a cocktail…

Lately on my feed, I can’t get enough of @irene_matys Cypriot inspired dishes. Mediterranean cuisine has always been a favourite of mine, especially since they naturally don’t use a ton of meat. It’s bright and fresh and just my style of cooking.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But to me…there’s nothing like the perfect Sandwich. I grew up having a lot of Cubano Sandwiches, and with my moms 🔥🔥🔥 cooking, I would experiment a lot in the kitchen. So when Irene posted this Halloumi Sandwich, FOR ONE, I had to create my own, and TWO, think about the cocktail I’d pair 😍
