Fig and Earl Grey Iced Tea

I don’t think I have ever been this excited for a non-alcoholic drink. This iced tea is a game changer and one of my favourite creations for my Picnic Special feature this month. This can be easily thrown together over the stove, just give it some time to cool and you will be enjoying this in no time!

Figs and Earl Grey Iced Tea

An amazing Iced Tea recipe that can be enjoyed on its own or with a lovely gin!

Ingredients

  • 3 Figs Cut into Wheels
  • 1/2 Orange Peel
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Demerara Sugar
  • 1/2 + 1 Lemon Freshly squeezed + 1 Lemon cut into wheels for garnishes
  • 2 bags Earl Grey

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized saucepan for med-high heat, place figs, orange peel, water and sugar until it reaches a boil

  2. Bring it down to a simmer and place the 2 bags of earl grey for 5 minutes

  3. Take the saucepan from the stove and squeeze fresh lemon

  4. Strain into a container and let this sit until it reaches room temperature before storing in the fridge.
