Here we have a not-so-sweet syrup that combines a tart Granny Smith Apple with an acidic Vinho Verde for the White Chocolate and Raspberry Fizz cocktail. This has turned out to be one of my favourite wine syrups to date and don’t be surprised if you find more recipes with this beauty. It’s tart and refreshing nature makes it extremely easy to pair in cocktails or home made juices. Make sure to test it out with the recipe below!
Granny Smith Apple and Vinho Verde Syrup
- 1 Granny Smith Apple Cut into wedges, seeds removed
- 1.5 cups Vinho Verde
- 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil
Once it starts to boil, immediately bring it down to a simmer for 20 minutes
Mash the apples and let it simmer for 2 more minutes before straining
Strain through a fine mesh strainer and let this sit at room temperature before storing into fridge. Can last up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
