Peach Granola Yogurt Cocktail

Your breakfast will never be the same! Okay maybe you won’t have this for breakfast, but it will get you all sorts of nostalgic with this breakfast-inspired Peach Granola Yogurt Cocktail. It combines some of Greave’s Peach Jam, Vanilla Greek Yogurt, Gin, Amaretto and fresh citrus!

There are two types of people who eat fruit yogurts; they either mix the whole thing or wait to get to the delicious bottom for all the fruit goodness. Well today, there is a third type, and it’s those who like to mix it up in a cocktail! I’m the third type, if that wasn’t obvious enough, and I’m really excited to show you how to throw this cocktail together.

The inspiration for today’s Peach Wednesday cocktail all started with a fellow drinkstagramer and the fact that he used jam in his cocktail. I used to always shake things up behind the bar with jam, but we definitely follow our own trends sometimes, and I lost touch with my Jam side. With that said, I wanted to create something different, and with a simple look at my peach greek yogurt I had lying around my fridge, it hit me.

One of my favourite ways to enjoy yogurt is by adding nuts and dried fruit on top. My boyfriend always tells me I’m extra when it comes to food and drinks, and in the case of yogurt, I always dress it up with fresh fruits, nuts or whatever else I’m feeling like that day. So with that nut concept in mind, the Amaretto came to play. You could also blame me for being lazy and not wanting to whip up an orgeat syrup, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who would have done this.

I knew I wanted Gin to be the base of this beverage, because I wanted a fairly fresh cocktail, and I had envisioned this with crushed ice. If you’re ever confused as to what spirit to pair, think about the classics and how they’re used. In this case, a Ramos Gin Fizz comes to mind, and with my experience with cream and gin, I knew it would work. Another important factor that I don’t stress enough is the Angostura Bitters. It plays such a vital role in adding depth and spice to a cocktail, and it worked wonders here! I’m assuming you’re probably getting thirsty, because I know I am. So without further ado, the recipe.
