Reposado Tequila and Smoked Passionfruit Summer Cocktail

It’s another Friday which means another delicious #DrinkYourGram creation. With it being National Tequila Day today, I’m shaking up this special summer imbibe combining Reposado Tequila, Mezcal, Passionfruit, Lime and Orgeat!

If you’re new to the concept of #DrinkYourGram, I started it as a way to give you cocktail recipes YOU WANT. By voting on my IG stories every Tuesday, you get a chance to shape the cocktail you’d like to create at home. For this week, with National Tequila Day landing today, I wanted to know what agave cocktail you’d like to see. So I asked you to vote on the following:

Make the cocktail with
60% voted Reposado (vs Blanco)

Make the cocktail
56% Easy Sipping (vs Spirit Forward)

Make sure you
63% didn’t wanted any carbonation because you’re like me and don’t care for bloating!

Cocktail made with
82% Team Lime (vs Lemon)

So with that in mind, I decided to bring out the crushed ice and shake up the most crushable summer Tequila sip of 2020. Curious how it’s made? Make sure to check out the recipe below!

Substituting Orgeat

Here’s the thing, I’m obsessed with Orgeat. It’s such an easy way to add a whole new layer of complexity to your cocktails with this simple almond infusion. WITH THAT SAID, if you don’t have access or just don’t have the patience to make some yourself, that’s okay. Substitute it with Simple Syrup using 1 part granulated sugar and 1 part boiled water. It will still taste great, but if you want a party in your mouth, find or make yourself some Orgeat syrup!
