Toasted Pecan-Infused Bourbon

This is going to quickly become a mandatory infusion on your bar. And believe me, you just set it and forget it, and you have an infusion that will lasts months on end! This perfect Fall infusion combines cinnamon, nutmeg, pecans, fresh orange zest and the obvious bourbon bath. You can find it first used here in the Peach and Pecan Old Fashioned. Cheers!

Toasted Pecan Infused Bourbon

A new infusion to add to your Fall recipe library! Classic combination of pecan and bourbon to enjoy for months on end!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bourbon Something preferably on the sweeter end
  • 3/4 cup Pecans
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg Freshly grated if possible
  • 1/2 Orange zest
  • 1 tbsp El Dorado 12 yr Rum

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Rinse Pecans with the tablespoon of El Dorado Rum (Anything sweet and heavily spiced can work here)

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place rinsed pecans on top. Throw into your oven for 20 minutes.

  3. In sterile jar, place toasted pecans, half of the entire orange peel, cinnamon stick and nutmeg. Pour Bourbon over top and seal. Stir once a day. Keep away from light and heat for 5 days before straining.
