Hometown Sweetie – Rhubarb Gin Cocktail inspired by Schitt’s Creek

One of my favourite Canadian Couples is getting an inspired Valentine’s Day Cocktail! Schitt’s Creek David and Patrick are the star of this Rhubarb Gin Cocktail to be served this Valentine’s Day. Combining a delicious Canadian Rhubarb Gin, Apple Cider, Lemon and Tonic, you’ll find this not only so easy to create, but delicious as well!

Building a Valentine’s Day Cocktail for David and Patrick

I’m a huge fan of Schitt’s Creek (Canadian Pride kicking in here), but I particularly love how David and Patrick’s relationship builds throughout the series. So when asked to do a cocktail in honour of this couple, well it was easy. Canadian Pride kicked in, and I knew I wanted to feature the delicious Rhubarb Canadian Gin by Steinhart Distillery, and all the hometown flavours I love with a splash of herbs and tonics based on the Apothecary that they ran.

When I talk about hometown flavours, the show gives me a bounty of Fall. It’s one of my favourite seasons in Ontario, and it heavily has to do with the bounty of produce available, the canning that goes down, and of course, PIE. Apple, Rhubarb, Peaches, Cherry. All these flavours with the warming spices, just gives me that “small-town” feel, which is exactly Schitt’s Creek.

So this is a bit of a Rhubarb Apple Pie in a glass, with a cross between a Collins and Gin and Tonic. Listen, it’s delicious and you’ll just have to trust me on this one!
